2017 MGU-K from Russian GP is aim to used by Renault

The new MGU-K concerns is the reliability that prompted a manufacturer of French cars to adopt a no-risk strategy at 1st races for its work team (Toro Rosso and Red Bull).

But it has not come without penalty due to the older specification which is 5kg heavy and 1 kg air bottle for cooling. With the latest F1s car, it on the weight limit and an extra bulk is not ideal which the reason why Renault vowed that they do their best to bring 2017 version back as soon as they can.
